Welcome to the Burleson Independent Soccer Association Website

Burleson Independent Soccer Association (BISA) provides recreational youth and adult soccer to Burleson and the surrounding areas. We are a member of the North Texas Soccer Association and focus on providing a safe and positive playing experience for everyone.

The games are structured to develop physical and social skills while promoting the team concept. Everyone who participates on or off the field has the opportunity to learn the game of soccer and develop new friendships along the way. Come on out and join us on the fields!

U10, U11 and U15 Girls Players Needed
Mon, Aug 31, 2015
We are still looking for U10, U11 and U15 girls to fill existing team roster spots. If you are interested in signing up for the Fall 2015 season, please contact Ginger Mayfield at ginger.mayfield@bisasoccer.com
Fall 2015 Registration
Sat, Aug 01, 2015
Fall recreational player registration is now CLOSED online. All recreational player registrations will only be available on an as needed basis by the player's commissioner and a late fee will be added. All guaranteed returns to previous teams are no longer valid. You will need to email the commissioner for each player you would like to register to get a link for that player. Any players registered without approval by their commissioner will be refunded.

Commissioners are U4-U6 Girls Paul Grosskurth, U4-U6 Boys Julie Mason, U7 and above girls Ginger Mayfield and U7 and above boys Arvin Campbell. All BISA emails are the person's first name.last name@bisasoccer.com and are listed on our BISA Board page above.

Adult registration is still open. Competitive registration and coach/manager registration is now open online for fall 2015 as well. U4 registration: players that will be 3 on or before July 31, 2015 are eligible for the fall season.

BISA is forming a new playing association with Mansfield Soccer and will no longer be playing with MSA for our U9 and above age groups starting with the Fall 2015 season. The age chart is incorrect for the U4 and U5 age groups. The best rule to use is take the age your child is on July 31 of this summer and add 1 to get their age group, ie a player age 4 on July 31 will be in the U5 age group this fall season.

We are pleased to announce we will be offering a sibling discount for families registering more than 1 youth player in a household again this season. You will need to have the players on a family account in the Gotsoccer system to have the option of the sibling discount using the online registration. We will also off the same discount to families at the walk up registration so you don't have to register online to receive the discount. You can create a family account by going to www.gotsoccer.com if you do not currently have one. This allows you to access all of your players using 1 login and password. Please keep in mind that all login usernames must be unique so you cannot use one of your player's current usernames for the family account or that will be the only player that you can have on that family account. Passwords can be duplicated, however.

If your player is a new player this season or if your player is returning and needs to turn in a birth certificate, those can be emailed to Julie Mason at julie.mason@bisasoccer.com or you can email Julie Mason to make arrangements to get this copy to BISA. We can only accept typed County Birth Certificates (not hand-written or hospital copies) or passports for verification of date of birth.
North Texas Announcement on Referees for Spectators
Mon, Jun 22, 2015
We Need Your Help!!!

The average age of a referee is 16
They can start as young as 12

We lose 40-45% of all newly registered referees before their first season is over

HELP US KEEP THE YOUNG REFEREES IN THE PROGRAM

R-Respect the young referee
E-Encourage them with some praise
F-Forgive them if they get a call(s) wrong
E-Embolden them by thanking them
R-Remain kind if you think a call is incorrect
E-Elevate them with a positive comment
E-Enjoy the game

You wouldn’t want an adult yelling at your child.

Every referee has attended a referee clinic, passed the test, received their badge and is excited to get started. They will make mistakes and that’s OK.

Help us change the negative statistic of 40-45% by leaving a positive footprint at every game you watch.

Thank you-North Texas Referees

BISA Zero Tolerance Policy

Referee Policies
Effective immediately, the following referee policies will be followed by all soccer referees at all outdoor soccer matches officiated at BISA soccer fields.

BISA Zero Tolerance
All persons responsible for a team and spectators (coach, assistants, and team managers) shall support the referee team. Failure to do so will undermine the referee’s authority and potentially create a hostile environment for the players, the referees, and all other participants and spectators. Consequently, the following policy is effective immediately:

NO SPECTATOR IS TO ADDRESS THE CENTER OR ASSISTANT REFEREE DURING THE MATCH FOR ANY REASON!!!!!

During the Match the Team Captain or Coach may address the referee for:
 Responding to a referee who initiates communication
 Requesting a substitution
 Pointing out emergencies or safety issues
 At half-time or at the end of a match, a coach may ask a referee to explain a rule(s) or a call in a polite and constructive manner. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION TO DEBATE! ABSOLUTELY NO SARCASM, HARASSMENT, OR INTIMIDATION! If a coach feels that there were concerns that need to be address about a referee, then the coach should complete BISA’s referee feedback form or contact the Referee Director.

Penalties for Coaches/Managers of Team:
 1st Minor infraction - Referee shall give verbal warning
 2nd Minor infraction - Caution
 3rd Minor infraction - Dismissal
 1st Serious infraction - Caution or Dismissal depending on seriousness of infraction.
(Dissent=Caution; Offensive, insulting, abusive = Dismissal)

Note: It is important to remember that the seriousness of the infraction is solely the opinion of the referee responsible for the match. There is no questioning of a Caution or Dismissal at the field, to the officiating crew, or any Board Member. The only avenue for appeal is a properly constituted Appeals and Disciplinary hearing conducted according to the By-Laws.
